WHAT IS TRE-MIX?An image is taken, remixed by one designer using any elements in that image. This can be anything from a colour, a shape, some type……anything as long as a link can be seen somewhere in your new image. Once complete this is then re-posted to the 5oup group and it is the job of the next designer to take this image and do the same to that. A kind of Chinese whispers in a way. So by the time the twelfth designer has complete there remix it will be completely different from the original!
WANT TO GET INVOLVED?It’s very simple to get involved and the more people who do, the more creative and exciting this site will become! If you are familiar with software such as Photoshop or illustrator this will all be very simple. Here are the 3 basic steps of Tre-mix explained:
STEP 1 : DOWNLOAD ITThe image galleries to the left show the 4 different remixes which are currently taking place. Have a look through these to see which chain you would like to get involved with. Below the latest image in the chain will be a link to the original file that you can download. Then simply follow the steps to download....you do no need to sign up....and does not cost a penny!
STEP 2 : REMIX ITMake a new image using any elements from the file you have downloaded. Do this in anyway you wish….go crazy!
STEP 3 : UPLOAD ITTwo things you need to do for this stage. First things first save your file as a JPEG and upload this to the 5oup group. The second thing you need to do is go to a site to which you can upload your original PSD or AI file so people can access your new remix. This is done on www.filehosting.cc. A free and very simple site to use. You will receive a link that you just need to post below your image on 5oup.
FACEBOOKThis project is currently running alongside a facebook version of this group so please feel free to join the facebook one if you are a member of that. Here is the link:
